Logging In
Some areas of the Stephen Ministries website are restricted to those individuals who have attended a week-long training course for Stephen Leaders or ChristCare Equippers. These people received their log-in name and password at the training course dedication banquet. Stephen Ministers may also create an account for themselves so that they can access the special Stephen Minister Pages. You also need to log in before making a purchase in the Online Store. To log in to the special access pages for Stephen Leaders, Stephen Ministers, or ChristCare Equippers, or to log in to the store, click on "Log In" located in the upper right corner of the screen.
To log in, enter your complete email address, such as stephen@stephenministries.org, in the first box and the password you were given at training, or that you entered when creating or updating your account, in the second box. Then click on the "Log In" button. If you have forgotten your password, click here.
If you are a trained Stephen Leader or ChristCare Equipper and haven't yet logged on to the Stephen Leader Pages or the ChristCare Equipper Pages, call us at (314) 428-2600 to learn how to gain access to those special sections.
If you have an account on our site, but you are unable to log in, please call (314) 428-2600.
Once you are logged in to our site, you can access your profile by clicking on the "My Profile" link in the upper right corner of the screen.
You can verify or update the information contained in your profile, such as your address, phone number, or log-in name. If you change any of the information on your profile screen, please be sure to click the "Update My Profile" button at the bottom of the page so that your changes will be saved.
You can log out of our site at any time by clicking on the "Log Out" link in the upper right corner of the screen.
Home
There are several ways to return to the Stephen Ministries home page during your visit to our site. One way is to click on the word "Home" in the upper right corner of the screen. Another way is to click on the Stephen Ministries logo in the upper left corner. There is also a "Home" hyperlink at the bottom of every page.
Navigation
Our website contains multiple navigation options to help you find information easily. The major sections of our site are listed above the cross on each page.
By moving your mouse over each title, a drop-down menu will appear. You may click on the main title or any section that drops down from that title to get to a page. Some items in the drop-down menus have an arrow after them. When you move your mouse over the arrow, more menu options appear to the right (or left depending on your screen resolution).
Please note that some sections of our website are only accessible to trained Stephen Leaders, ChristCare Equippers, or Stephen Ministers. Stephen Leaders, ChristCare Equippers, or Stephen Ministers who want to enter these areas will need to log in. If you've logged in but still can't access the page, and you believe that you should have access to the page, please contact us.
By clicking on the main sections (above the cross) you will go to a main page for that section of the site. For instance, when you click on "Courses and More" you go to a page that lists all the courses offered.
By clicking on an option from the drop-down menu, you go to that page. For example, clicking on "Basic Information" in the above diagram will take you to an introductory page about ChristCare Small Group Ministry.
In addition to the menu system at the top of every page, there are also "breadcrumbs" that keep track of where you are within the site and allow you quick access to main sections. These breadcrumbs are located in the horizontal part of the cross, below the main navigation. You can click on any hyperlink within the breadcrumbs to go to that page within our site.
You can also navigate the website by clicking the hyperlinks at the bottom of every page to get to a number of main sections within our site.
Finally, you will find clickable hyperlinks within the content of many pages. Use these whenever you want more information about the topic or resource being discussed on the page.
Full-Site Search
To use the site-wide search function, click on the word "Search" in the upper right corner of your screen. Please note that you will get more results if you are logged in as a Stephen Leader, ChristCare Equipper, or Stephen Minister. (For more information on how to log in, see the section "Logging In" at the top of this page.)
Next, type the word or phrase you want to find into the box and click the "Go" button. You can also specify the number of results you'd like to see on each page--from 5 to 30.
The search functions as a Boolean search. For example, if you enter "time" and "weep" in the box, the search will return all pages in the Stephen Ministries website that include the words "time" or "weep" or both. If you are looking for the book Straight From the Heart: A Time to Weep Volume 3, enter "time to weep" which returns only results that include the exact phrase "time to weep." Unless you are using an exact phrase in quotation marks, do not use punctuation, prepositions, or conjunctions. Try using the advanced search if your search does not return the results you want.
Advanced Search
Click on the "Advanced Search" hyperlink next to the "Go" button to use the Advanced Search feature. Advanced Search helps you to search using several categories. You can search for results in the following ways:
- with all the words
This search will return only results that contain every word you enter. For example, if you entered "good" and "grief," it would return only results that contained both the words "good" and "grief."
- with the exact phrase
This search returns only results that have exactly what you type in the box. As you can see below, the search for "good" and "grief" returned only the book Good Grief.
- with at least one of the words
This search returns results that contain at least one of the words you type in the box. For example, if you enter "good" and "grief," it will return results for pages that contain "good," results that contain "grief," and results that contain "good" and "grief." As you can see from the illustration, this search returns more results than the previous two search options.
- without the words
This search will return all pages that do not contain the words entered in the box.
Any of these four advanced searches can be combined to further customize your particular search.
The advanced search also allows you to choose in which areas of the website you want to search. All the categories are selected by default. If you don't want to search in one or more of the areas, click in the box to uncheck it. The website is divided into the following areas in which you can search:

- Online Store
Online Store Search
You also have the option of searching only in the online store for a word or phrase. This search will return product results from the online store. Store search results can be sorted in several ways:
- Stephen Ministries Recommended
- Bestselling
- Best Match
- Price: low to high
- Price: high to low
- Product Name: A to Z
- Product Name: Z to A
You can also choose how many results you want per page in increments of five from 5 to 30.
Advanced Online Store Search
The advanced on-line store search allows you to choose from which categories of the store you would like results. These areas include:
- Books
- Audiovisual
- Clothing
- Other
All these categories are selected by default. If you don't want to search in one or more of these areas, click in the box to uncheck it.
Online Store
To shop in our web store, click on the words "Our Store" at the top of the screen (or on the hyperlink at the bottom of the page).
You can search for products by category and subcategory or by typing in the title, author, or item you are looking for.
You can also see our most popular items by clicking on the "See Our Most Popular Items" hyperlink on the main page of the store.
Use the drop-down menus to view a certain category of products. Some options such as books also have subcategories.
To find out more about an item, click on the title, picture, or "View Item" button for a detailed description.
To purchase the item, click on "Add to Cart."
You can update the quantity of each item in your shopping cart by typing a number in the "quantity" box and then clicking on "Update Cart." If you are finished shopping, click on "Check Out." If you want to continue browsing for more items, click on "Continue Shopping."
Once you add an item to your shopping cart, it is there until you remove the item, check out, or log out. You may return to your shopping cart at any time by clicking on the shopping cart icon at the top of your screen.
In the left column of the store, you will always see our current featured items. You can click on the "Details" button to obtain more information about the item, or you can click on "Add to Cart" to purchase the item.
Print-Friendly Pages
Most pages on our website have a printer icon in the right corner below the horizontal line of the cross. Clicking on the icon will open another window. The new window will display a printer-friendly version of the page you are viewing. To print the page, click the "Print Page" button in the upper right side of the page, or click on "File" in the menu bar, and choose "Print" from the drop-down menu. Once you have printed the page, click on the "Close Window" button in the upper right corner of the page. Your original browser window will still be open.
Related Products
On most pages of our website you will see products from the online store in the left column. These books and other items are related to the content of the page you are reading. They may help you obtain further information on a subject or build awareness for your ministry program. If you're interested in purchasing a product, click on the "Add to Cart" button. If you're interested in finding out more information about the product, click on the "Details" button.
