Stephen Leaders at West Side Missionary Baptist have found Stephen Ministry not only to be a wonderful way to reach out into the community to provide people with one-to-one Christian care, but they have also found it to be a great way to develop lay leadership for all other ministries in the congregation.
Says West Side's Stephen Ministry coordinator Rev. Dr. Rosalind Denson, "Stephen Ministry is a great training ground for lay leaders. Many of our Stephen Ministers serve for two years and then move into other leadership positions in the congregation. They continue to use their caring skills in everything they do, which makes our other ministries even more caring."
