Training Resources

The ChristCare Series provides all the training resources you need to have a thriving small group ministry.

  • The one-week Equipper's Training Course prepares those who will lead your congregation's ChristCare Group Ministry. They learn how the ChristCare system works and how to use ChristCare Series resources, and they gain a lot of wisdom about what it takes to make your small groups very effective.
  • Equippers take home a whole toolbox of small group ministry resources, including twenty-four sessions of training for ChristCare Group Leaders (the first sixteen sessions for initial training and the final eight for continuing education).

Group-Based Training
for ChristCare Group Leaders

You'll train ChristCare Group Leaders in a special ChristCare Group. In their ChristCare Group, trainees experience the deep sharing, trust, care, and growth ChristCare Groups nurture. They deepen relationships with God and one another through community prayer and worship. They learn the value of Biblical Equipping and missional service by participating in and leading those activities. And as group members, they have the opportunity to learn by observing the excellent leadership skills of the Equipper(s) who lead them. Group-based training produces excellent, well-equipped group leaders with a strong vision and passion for ChristCare Groups.

Trainees also learn essential elements of leading a group through a variety of excellent traditional training methods such as presentations, discussions, a video, and interactive exercises, which are woven into the training sessions with the group activities.

Group-based training takes equipping group leaders to a new level: By learning in a group, trainees gain a vision for the transformation ChristCare Groups can bring to your congregation.

Equippers use the following resources to establish ChristCare Group Ministry in the congregation--and to keep it going smoothly for years.

ChristCare Series Equipper's Manual

The Equipper's Manual is the primary tool that Equippers use to train ChristCare Group Leaders and direct ChristCare Small Group Ministry in your congregation.

Section I of this comprehensive manual shows Equippers how to:

  • build a strong Equippers Team;
  • create a strong foundation for ChristCare Groups in the congregation;
  • recruit, select, train, and supervise ChristCare Group Leaders;
  • build membership in ChristCare Groups;
  • make sure that ChristCare Groups are on the front lines of supporting the congregation's mission and vision; and
  • continue to work the process so that ChristCare will continue to transform your congregation and its members for many years to come.

Section II contains the resources Equippers use to train ChristCare Group Leaders in your congregation.

  • Your manuscripts for the sixteen sessions of initial group-based training, including lesson plans, instructions, scripted presentations, and activities for learning by doing, are in the Group-Based Training Presentations volume.
  • Your manuscripts for the eight sessions of continuing education are in the Continuing Education Training Presentations volume.

Beginnings: A ChristCare Group Experience

Beginnings: A ChristCare Group Experience

Beginnings is an eight-session curriculum that helps ChristCare Groups get off to a great start. Using Beginnings, ChristCare Group Leaders lead their group members in developing a group covenant, help them build community and trust, and teach them the basic skills to help them relate appropriately to one another in a small group. Group members also become familiar with the four main activities of ChristCare Groups (community building and care, Biblical Equipping, prayer and worship, and missional service). ChristCare Group Leader trainees read both the Beginnings Leader Guide and Group Member Guide in preparation for their first session of training.

Biblical Equipping: God's Word in Your World

Biblical Equipping describes a fresh approach to small group Bible study, which ChristCare Groups use to explore the meaning of God’s Word and connect it to their daily lives. Biblical Equipping involves group members in a daily encounter with God's Word, both during group meetings and between meetings.
