Ministry in Your Church
1 Explore
- Learn about ChristCare by looking through our Web site and by reading the printed materials in the ChristCare Series inquiry packet. (Learn how to receive a ChristCare Series inquiry packet.)
- Talk with pastors and Equippers at one or more congregations using the ChristCare Series (we can provide you with names).
- Call Stephen Ministries St. Louis (314-428-2600) with your questions.
2 Decide
- Examine your congregation's mission or vision statement. How can ChristCare Groups help your congregation carry out its mission or realize its vision?
- Educate congregation members and decision-makers about the ChristCare Series and how the ChristCare system will help you achieve your goals for small group ministry.
- Seek God's guidance by making prayer an important part of the decision-making process.
3 Enroll
Your congregation enrolls in the ChristCare Series (a one-time step) and receives lifelong access to training, resources, and ongoing support from Stephen Ministries St. Louis. The ChristCare Series Enrollment Booklet (included in the ChristCare Series inquiry packet) provides details about enrollment.
4 Use Your Vision Building Kit
Once your congregation enrolls, we will send you a Vision Building Kit that you can put to use right away to take your first important steps in beginning ChristCare Group Ministry. The Vision Building Kit provides resources for:
- Selecting representatives to send to a one-week ChristCare Series Equipper's Training Course (ETC) where they will be trained as Equippers--those who will direct your congregation's ChristCare Group Ministry;
- Preparing your Equippers for the ETC so they can get the most out of this inspirational and educational experience; and
- Helping your Equippers begin to cast a vision for ChristCare Groups and build a foundation for ChristCare Group Ministry even before they attend the Equipper's Training Course.
5 Your Equippers Attend the ETC
At the Equipper's Training Course your Equippers Team learns to direct every facet of your ChristCare Group Ministry. They also have the opportunity to experience ChristCare firsthand by participating in a ChristCare Group throughout the week. Their vision for small group ministry expands as they begin to identify specific ways ChristCare Groups can support and carry out your congregation's mission and vision. (Learn more about the Equipper's Training Course.)
6 Begin Your ChristCare Group Ministry
Once they return from the ETC, the members of your Equippers Team have the resources and know-how to successfully implement the ChristCare Series system in your congregation by--
- Working as a team to direct your congregation's ChristCare Small Group Ministry;
- Casting a vision for life-changing small groups and building excitement and enthusiasm for your ChristCare Group Ministry;
- Recruiting, selecting, and training ChristCare Group Leaders in your congregation;
- Working with your ChristCare Group Leaders to build membership and multiply groups; and
- Providing ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance for your ChristCare Group Leaders.
Any time your Equippers have questions or encounter problems, they can call the Stephen Ministries consultation staff who can share our experience from working with hundreds of ChristCare congregations for more than a decade.
