Getting Your Congregation into ChristCare Groups

Have you ever wondered how you could get everyone in your congregation to "try out" a ChristCare Group--to get a taste of the community, caring, sharing, and spiritual growth that occur in a ChristCare Group--just as you did at the ETC?

Well, Bruce Lively, Equipper at First Lobo Baptist Church in Komoka, Ontario, Canada, found a way--a great way--to give his entire congregation a "taste of ChristCare"!

Bruce attended the April 2005 ETC and returned home with a vision and a plan. By August he had recruited and trained 15 ChristCare Group Leaders, and now he already has nine groups meeting regularly. Enthusiasm in the congregation is running high, so Bruce hopes to add more groups and train additional leaders in the near future.

How did he get everyone in his church to give ChristCare a try? Says Bruce, "We did a 'Taste of ChristCare' Sunday. I took the morning service, set up round tables in the sanctuary and had the entire congregation participate in a ChristCare Group during our worship service. What a Sunday!

"The congregation was so excited about the event that I asked them all to wave to Stephen Ministries and all the other ChristCare congregations while I took a picture."

A picture is worth a thousand words--and an experience is worth a thousand pictures! The best-ever way to get people into your groups is to find a way to give them the experience of a real ChristCare Group.

If you'd like to give members of your congregation a sampling of life in a ChristCare Group, check out "A Taste of ChristCare" on the ChristCare Equipper Pages or look in file folder I.G.1 of your Equipper's Manual--and send us stories and pictures from your events too.
